Overview - Alnico Rectangular Bar Magnet

Alnico rectangular bar magnets / Alnico rectangular rod magnet

The Alnico rectangular bar magnets are made from Alnico 2 and Alnico 5 grade materials. They are also known as alnico rectangular rod magnets and alnico bar magnets.

They can be used at temperatures of up to +550 degrees C. They are referred to as bar magnets because the distance between the poles is greater than the pole face dimensions (i.e. they are magnetised in the same direction as their longest dimension).

The Alnico rectangular bar magnets are supplied in the famous Eclipse painted (red colour) or natural finish (uncoated, unpainted). They are popular for sensing applications and for experimental use in schools.

We can supply such  Alnico rectangular bar magnets in other dimensions and grades as required as part of our custom magnet service subject to quantities.

Ideal for educational usage and practical demonstrations,  a typical bar  magnet can also be commonly used to activate reed switches. In addition to rectangualr bar magnets we have a range of cylindrical shaped bar magnets.
