Electronically switchable permanent magnet (ESPM)

Optimag E is ideal for clamping or lifting loads of >10mm thickness with smooth, flat surfaces. Available in circular or rectangular configurations, Optimag E is typically used in robotics, pick and place, transfer machinery or manipulator applications. The ESPM lifter incorporates permanent magnetic technology. An electric current is only required to switch it on or off.

Once energised or de-energised it will not change until it receives another signal, hence if the power source fails the load will still be held securely. In addition a built in safety circuit prevents the unit being used until it is fully magnetised.
