The Eclipse Magnetics Operations Team are looking to recruit an experienced Design & Development Engineer; this is an exciting role offering the successful candidate great levels of variety, challenge and opportunity in this area of Eclipse Magnetics. 

Reporting to the Engineering Manager the Design & Development Engineer will play a key role in the Eclipse Magnetics Engineering Department in ensuring that the Company has a range of high quality, technically innovative and commercially competitive products to offer to the market as well as ensuring customer’s requirements are met in terms of design and requested delivery dates on bespoke products. 

On a day to day basis, the Design & Development Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing new products; enhancing the existing product range; leading on special capital expenditure projects and providing estimated costs for new products and new designs. The role of Design & Development Engineer is varied and will include research, creating concepts and prototypes, testing and developing prototypes, estimating, making corrections and requested changes, as well as providing support to the production process. 

Candidates must be educated to degree / HNC level, with previous experience working in a similar role, within a demanding and pressured engineering environment. Computer literacy, with an excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks and the full Microsoft Office Suite is essential. 

The successful applicant must be committed, self-motivated and enthusiastic, with an excellent understanding of design and engineering manufacturing procedures, and experience working with metals and fabrications. In order to be considered for this role, candidates will be innovative and creative; have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and keen decision-making capabilities. Attention to detail and accuracy skills are essential. 

In addition to the above, applicants must be in possession of a valid full UK driving licence and comfortable with occasional travel and some overnight stays away from home.
