Overview - Alnico Shallow Pot Magnets

With countersunk hole, ideal for screw mounting

The countersunk mounting pot magnet is also known as a shallow pot magnet (a term often used with ferrite material as the inner magnet but other magnet materials are used).

The countersunk mounting pot magnet / shallow pot magnet is a ferromagnetic steel cup into which a countersunk ring magnet is inserted. There is a hole all the way through the countersunk mounting pot magnet / shallow pot magnet. This allows a screw head to be inserted to screw  it  to any material of your choice to give a good mechanical hold.

Take care not to over tighten the screw to prevent breaking the magnet material (which is brittle in nature). The countersunk mounting pot magnet / shallow pot magnet is a very popular pot magnet, ideal for clamping and holding applications.  It is designed to clamp directly onto ferromagnetic surfaces such as mild steel. Alnico countersunk mounting pot magnets / Alnico shallow pot magnets have a maximum operating temperature of up to +842°F (450˚C) and are available in natural (uncoated, unpainted) or painted finishes. In some versions the steel hole of the mild steel cup in threaded.

"We were delighted with the service provided by Eclipse Magnetics; from the initial site survey through to delivery."
